About Ms. Nicole

We all have teachers that have made a difference in our lives. Teachers that have inspired, been positive influences, and encouraged us to reach for the stars.  For me, it was my 4th-grade teacher. From the moment I stepped into the classroom, I felt the embrace of stability, structure, and the peace of acceptance and community. Growing up in a household that valued adventure over education, I began to depend on the grounded and centered environment within the walls of the school. School felt like home. My desire to pursue teaching as a career started to bloom in those early elementary years as a result. In high school, I visited elementary schools as part of a career exploration program and was reinvigorated in this pursuit, finding new inspiration as I read stories to a sea of enraptured little faces.

In my college years, I continued my studies in Liberal Studies and a Minor in Kinesiology at CSU Monterey Bay. I was fortunate to volunteer at local elementary schools, work at after-school programs, and worked as a nanny to children of various ages and backgrounds. This drove my passion and provided me with the confidence in my decision to pursue teaching as an occupation. I have worked with children with a wide range of disabilities that I view as unique differences. I have studied adaptive teaching techniques and strategies. For every difference I may have made in the lives of the children I have worked with, they have made an equal if not greater impact on mine. In 2020, I was accepted into the San Diego Teacher Residency Program at HTH Graduate School of Education. I am excited and honored to have the opportunity to ignite that same spark and make that difference in the lives of my students.

When I'm not in the classroom I enjoy spending time with family and friends and all things under the sun. I love going to the beach and swimming in the ocean, hiking, camping, riding my bike, and traveling.
